Park 1, Park 2 and Garden are computer artworks that take place in real time. They are created and modelled for a video game environment, abounding in animist and anthropomorphic data, to be used in a contemplative games. These artworks belong to a series called Universal objects. Similar to other works from the same series, they are made of excavations and interventions within the material infrastructure of the digital.
The mutated structures, which create an area for contemplation and recreation, occupy the digital space. There are also different landscapes, “performative houses” inhabited by “bots”, performing various rituals, and equipped with digital artworks from the series Universal objects to be set into the public (digital) space. Visitors can enjoy spontaneous walks or they can set off into a meticulous exploration of the environment. One’s avatar moves around the park thanks to the use of the keys with the arrows for forwards, backwards left and right, as well as the keys Shift and Space.
Besides the three mentioned artworks, a series of elements taken from them and other Universal objects will be presented at the exhibition.
The exhibition Universal objects by Tatjana Vujinović Kušej will take place at the 2nd edition of Art & Science programme, which is organised by the Centre for the Promotion of Science in partnership with the Gallery of Science and Technology at the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts and the Ultramono Institute from Ljubljana, as a part of the large EU project The European network of digital art and science.
