Architecture, as a product of technology and art, is a multilayered formation. As the majority of human activities, it is subject to influences, both internal and external ones, stemming both from within and from trends, as well as to the influences of politics and public and expert opinion, modesty and imagination... Due to susceptibility to the various interpretations of influences on a certain architectural work, the affirmation of the very author, as an independent creator, is lost. The dimension of authorship and art is blurred. Where is the limit in the analysis of what is original and what has been transposed and to what extent does that exert an influence on the valuation of an architectural work? To what extent can modernity in architecture be understood and accepted by the general public? Ivan Antić was one of the few architects who attended, next to the Yugoslav president, the opening of the “25. maj (May 25th)” Sports Centre in Belgrade, which he himself designed.
