In the period after the Second World War, women architects were mostly allowed to be “anonymous collaborators” (in order to be able to do their job), “professional assistants” (urban planners, planners, critics, publicists - in which field they achieved the most popularity and success) or to become “reformers”, especially in the domain of legislative reforms, planning and construction, etc. For instance, architect Ivanka Raspopović, a years-long collaborator of Ivan Antić on the projects of Serbian architecture masterpieces (Museum of Contemporary Art and the Museum in Šumarice in Kragujevac), chose to stay in the background, while Antić derived the benefit of their joint work. It was not that Antić wanted to be reticent about such an important collaborator and friend of his, but it was Ivanka Raspopović who voluntarily adopted the position of an anonymous collaborator. 
Confronted with numerous professional challenges, a woman expert today has found herself in a contradictory situation as well - on one hand, she is in the position of a pillar of family and social life, while on the other hand, she is constantly facing attempts aimed at pushing her out from the main trends of professional life and at contesting her role, influence and significance in society. 
The aforesaid observations have produced numerous questions about women’s position in modern Serbian architecture. Is the work of a woman valued in the same manner as the work of a man? Has the position of a woman in the sphere of professional advancement been thwarted or not? Is a woman ever going to be appointed dean of the Faculty of Architecture and when? Is that going to change anything? Is there a masculine and feminine poetics in architecture? What does a full equality of sexes actually mean and is it possible to achieve that? Does the domination of women in a profession mean that the profession is less profitable?
