The workshop brought together students from the Academy of Applied Studies Polytechnic (Interior Design and Graphic Design study programs) and students from the Faculty of Contemporary Arts (Interior Design study program), with the aim of exploring the relationship between architecture, design, and water through the theme “Objects on the River.” This theme was conceived as a research platform for re-examining the spatial, ecological, and social aspects of life on water. Through an interdisciplinary approach, spatial, aesthetic, technical, and communicational aspects of design were integrated, while encouraging inter-institutional collaboration and the exchange of knowledge, experiences, and pedagogical approaches among related higher education institutions.
Students worked both in teams and individually on developing conceptual design solutions, which were presented in the form of architectural posters. Within the project, Graphic Design students conceived and produced advertising posters for projects developed by their colleagues from the Interior Design program. Through this process, the poster was explored as a layered medium of visual communication, with a particular emphasis on contemporary approaches to graphic design, the use of typographic elements, and thoughtful composition. Special attention was given to aligning the visual style of the posters with the aesthetics and concept of each individual project.
The final results of the workshop will be presented at an exhibition at the ULUS Gallery in Belgrade, thereby positioning student works within the public cultural space and including them in a broader professional and social dialogue on contemporary trends in architecture and design. Through collaborative work, students developed teamwork and multidisciplinary skills, as well as the ability to articulate and present ideas through various media of visual representation.
