In many areas of construction, it can be critically important to control moisture and water—or accommodate them—as this contributes to the quality and durability of buildings, such as residential and commercial facilities where moisture is present, for example laboratories, kitchens, pools, and saunas. Moisture protection is also important in basements and garages, as these areas are often exposed to the risks of damp walls, groundwater, or even flooding.
The building materials used in these spaces must meet special requirements and have the following characteristics:
• water resistance to preserve the dimensional and structural stability of the material and the system
• resistance to the formation of mold and fungi
• vapor permeability to maintain an optimal indoor climate
AQUAPANEL® Cement Board Indoor is an ideal material for constructing lightweight systems in these spaces, whether for suspended ceilings, drywall partition walls, or cladding.
AQUAPANEL® Cement Board Indoor is a non-combustible, asbestos-free cement board with glass mesh on both faces, classified as Euroclass A1 for reaction to fire, providing exceptional system stability in the most demanding wet conditions, even when exposed to chlorine.
Although it is a cement board, AQUAPANEL® Cement Board Indoor is highly flexible and therefore does not limit interior designers when creating curved surfaces. It also places virtually no limits on the choice of finishing materials and techniques.
