Introductory talk 10 a.m. – 11 a.m

Relations within HUMAN – NATURAL – URBAN triangle will be tackled through different formats and modes of interaction at the location of Zvezdarska Šuma in Belgrade. The action focuses on the pressing topics of health and care for both human and non-human actors within the environment. Generally speaking, as regards the issues of health and the built environment, the action is in line with Biophilic Design dimensions, patterns, and attributes. Design of the built environment should enable us to satisfy our inner need for connecting with nature in a way that balances all three – our mind, body, and soul. This is why diverse formats of the action will investigate different aspects of human – natural – urban relations. Participants of the Action will have the opportunity to experience Zvezdarska Šuma and good practices of integrating urban nature into urban flows and architectural settings. Through a forest walk, participants will be introduced to natural and wildlife elements that we as humans must nurture, can interact with, and benefit from within urban nature sites. In addition to modules concerned with design, two modules will focus especially on human condition and two basic dimensions of human functioning – mental and physical. Mens sana in corpore sano, healthy mind in a healthy body. Modus Vivendi System – Centre for Education, Psychotherapy and Trauma will hold a collective psychotherapy session with the participants, in which the challenges and psychological features of resilient and strong personality will be discussed. As for physical health, Belgrade Running Club will organize engaging walks, runs, and activities, to demonstrate fun ways to stay active in the city, by engaging in outdoors activities that endorse the spirit of togetherness and social connectedness.
Participants: Aleksandra Šević, Institute for the Protection of Cultural Monuments, Belgrade; Ružica Sarić, BINA; Jelena Brajković, Faculty of Architecture at the University of Belgrade; Biljana Ćulafić, Modus Vivendi System – Centre for Education, Psychotherapy and Trauma; Mirko Mihailović, Belgrade Running Club; Sanja Šovran, Faculty of Biology, University of Belgrade
