Architecture and engineering bind us with Society. The bigger the connection between human beings and social space, the bigger the understanding of the existing relations between them. This enables us to set challenges that trigger social transformations, in the way we live and in the establishment of these social relations within new contemporary paradigms.
As a result of this critical thought, an inseparable trinomial is drawn between passion, innovation and execution. This trinomial triggers a new way of looking at things, enabling the acceptance of changes and transformations. It is a new way of seeing things, from the material experience of architecture, from a spatial, geometrical, structural and constructive perspective. Also, from a position that allows us to overcome and transcend the constructed object itself; to express its immaterial essence, or the results of a personal adventure or a creative action based on the process of investigation of the relations between architecture and other disciplines, that call forth new ways of looking at things, such as photography. This connection between the disciplines of architecture and photography is explored by Ricardo Santonja, lecturer at the Higher Technical School of Architecture of Madrid – UpM, at the Department of Architectural Graphic Ideation; he is also a visual artist and a professional photographer, specialized in architecture and engineering.
