The goal of the project in 2025 is for the local community to “adopt” their urban Oases – to nurture, change and reshape them in order to respond to the changing needs of city neighborhoods.
This approach is key to ensuring the sustainability of existing Oases and encouraging the creation of similar spaces throughout the city.
In order to further support this vision, the Goethe-Institut decided to continue the project this year and offer a cultural program at all three locations, in close coordination with all partners and the local community. In addition, the three Oases will be interconnected, enabling the exchange of ideas and experiences over coffee and cakes, the planning and implementation of joint initiatives. Inspired, among other things, by the “Healing Garden” in the Arboretum, “Urban Gardening” will play a central role in all three Oases this year. In urban Oases, all partners decide together what will be done, but the local community has the last word.
We hope that this continued engagement will further strengthen the oasis idea, encourage greater participation and expand the sense of responsibility in the neighborhood.
