This year, the exhibition “Piranesi Award” is complemented by a special exhibition “Piranesi 30” dedicated to the Piranesi magazine (1st Central-European Architectural Magazine for the Culture of the Environment) celebrating its 30th anniversary (the first edition was published in 1992);
Piranesi magazine, the first Central European architectural publication with a focus on spatial culture, is based on the concept and the initiative of Vojteh Ravnikar and Tomaž Brate, together with designer Ranko Novak. Piranesi is edited by architects Robert Potokar and Staša Baranja, who, together with designers Domen Fras and Malvin Aurelio Lubec, and guest reviewers and critics set their primary mission: to bring a critical distance to the older architecture of the Central European area, but also to present a selection of some of the most prominent recent Central European architectural productions.
Exhibition consists of more than fifty works, realizations of architects and student projects nominated by eleven (11) national selectors from eleven (11) European countries (Austria, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Czech Republic, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Slovakia, Slovenia, Serbia, Montenegro) realized in the last two years. The international jury has given the prize and recognitions Piranesi 2022: In this fourth season for Serbia at the Piran Days of Architecture (PDA), the Serbian student selection is included for the third time. The PDA is an international event with one of the longest traditions in the world and has been organized every pre-last Saturday in November in the seaside towns of Piran and Portorož in Slovenia, since 1983. The purpose of the conference is to evaluate current architectural trends and to present the most innovative ideas of architectural and spatial production in the region of Central Europe.
