This year, the BINA Seminar is dedicated to the author of the SAVA CENTER building, the celebrated architect Stojan Maksimović (1934-2024) in the spirit of the theme in focus named Echoes of Modernism.

Stojan Maksimović was an extremely talented and creative person, an architect who created in this country and abroad. He worked in the architectural studio Stojan Maksimovic Architect in Nahant, Massachusetts (USA). The versatility of his artistic personality was proven by the rich international experience as well as a large number of significant architectural and urban realisations. For his works, he was awarded the Federal Award of the daily newspaper “Borba” (1977), the October Award of the City of Belgrade (1977), and for his overall work the highest professional recognition of the Association of Architects of Serbia – the Grand Award for Architecture (1990). The most important buildings are the Sava Centre, the Intercontinental Hotel (Crowne Plaza), the Municipality of New Belgrade, residential and other buildings that are masterpieces of our architecture. His works live with us and teach us how it is possible to achieve timeless landmarks in the urban environment with quality urban planning and architecture.
